To anyone that has replaced their sports package brakes.
So my front brakes are making this ungodly screech every morning when backing out and I can feel a little shaking during hard braking. Looking to get my brakes replaced by the dealer(mostly want them to check something else out) I’d like to know what you paid. Want to know if they’re reasonable going in.

Yeah theyre gona rip you off lol i went through the same thing some time in 2017 and they asked over a grand for two front pads and rotors and rear pads. I think i paid like half of what they asked for by buying all the parts on ebay and had my friend swap all them out for me for 100 lol i bought oem front rotors from ebay and then bought ebc redstuff pads as well for both front and back.

Really? I haven’t really noticed it till very recently and it’s sometimes VERY loud. But yeah it does go away fast. I live on top of a pretty steep hill so it goes away fast.

if it's super loud then I'd look at getting it checked out but they will squeak when they're cold

Just got my CPO W205 in May 2018. Now it's winter and my brakes are squealing loudly when slowly backing out of my garage.
The neighbors look out their window. This never happened with my W204 sport.
The dealer wants me to pay to replace my "good pads" with a different (quiet) brake pads???? My car is still in warranty.

Yeah that’s the sound! It is very annoying. I backup out of my driveway which is a good 150 feet so it’s a nice long noise lol. It hasn’t done it in a little while since it’s not really cold here anymore. Winters not over and it can’t stay 60s and 70s forever so I’m sure it’ll come back soon. But I don’t really feel any vibration unless I’m going super fast down a steep hill but even then it’s not that bad. I may just wait a bit. Last time during service they said the brakes were fine.

Coworker got a 16 C300 Sport shortly after I got mine. She's told me her brakes squeak in the morning when backing out of the house.
No problems for me with my 15 C300 Sport, but I back into my driveway/garage.

Although, I shouldn't have to do that on a 60k car.

I believe the brake noise you're all discussing comes from the material type of the brake pads themselves. Semi-metallic vs ceramic, specifically, in this day and age.
If you can't deal with the squeal, you can make the switch to ceramic pad material. The dealership probably won't do this, because our cars are designed with semi metallic pads. If you're just commuting, switching to ceramic should be fine. The brake noise would go away, then. If you want to understand the differences, here is a short summary:

People driving around town in Mercedes Benz cars with brakes squealing only hurts THEIR brand and sales.
Also, My old 2011 W204 with same AMG sport package, drilled rotors, etc. NEVER had this issue in winter. I've lived in the exact same place for years.
For now, I will continue to spray water on my rotors and pray for warmer temps.

Truth is, most cars come with semi-metallic, and Mercedes specifically tend to screech quite commonly. Liberal application of anti squeel when installing pads would probably cover 50% of cases. Maybe Mercedes doesn't recommend anti squeel paste as part of their brake job?

I had this same exact issue on my previous Cadillac ATS. The squealing was deafening! They lubed them, grease them to no avail. It was always a temporary fix. What really pissed me off is that this was a known problem to all ATS vehicles, and their solution was to just grease them. Got to the point I learned to live with them. Fortunately, my new Mercedes has been whisper quiet.
