Best aftermarket back up camera for 2015 C 300
Hi Folks,
I know there have been some threads on this topic and I searched the forum before making this new thread. Car phone has not responded to my request for a quote for their aftermarket camera so I am posting this to see if other forum members have any recommendations for adding a aftermarket backup camera to a 2015 C 300. I searched the Internet for other reputed options but came up with no other options so hopefully someone here has added a camera to their car and can help me with some recommendations.

I installed one from Carsgadget. They’re out of Cali so it’s easy to get in touch with them if need be.

How tough or easy is it to install? Also does it switch quickly into the video mode or is there any lag? Also does it come with sensors or a sound when you are too close to anything while backing up?

Install took about 2 hours. Center console needs to be removed, there’s videos on YouTube for that. It’s a fixed cam, doesn’t retract like OEM when not in use. I have not noticed any lag . There’s no sound alert when getting close to objects but there is an car icon on the screen that changes colors according to proximity of objects.

I've got the factory rear camera in my car so if I got a front camera would that just plug in to the NTG5 unit or would I need some kind of interface?

Finally got around to doing this and I can easily say that this was a super easy install thanks to GreekUPS and a couple of other threads on here. Took me an hour to finish everything and it all works flawlessly. The only thing i need to figure out is how to adjust the parking lines. The horizontal line is not accurate and is a bit lopsided. I will email carsgadget for that and see what's up but overall very pleased. Will take the car for a spin tomorrow and see how it looks in the daytime! Will post pictures then but I feel definitely worth every penny and if I had to do this again it would take me about 35-40 minutes!

When I tested it today morning my grid is way off to one side than the center of the car so not only is it not horizontal leveled but it is to the left of the center of the car! WTF. I don't think there is that much play when tightening the camera that I can move it to the center. Any tips/ideas? I am going to contact them tomorrow as well and see what they say.

So I spoke to carsgadget and they are sending me another camera piece to see if this one was just a faulty unit. They admitted that the camera is not 100% OEM type lined up and has some deviation but mine was more than usual. Here is a pic of how my current camera looks.
See how the lines are way off to the left side than the right side garage post. This is when the car is lined up perfectly to go in straight into the garage.
