Remote start and other issues
I just got my C-class, couldn't turn down a great deal on a lease on a 2018. However, I have had a couple issues. First, the app used for remote start seems to just plain not work. Second, the automatic braking keeps getting false alerts, even when no other cars are anywhere near me. The last minor annoyance is that I can't seem to find any way to get it to save the drive mode selection, it just starts in comfort everytime. Anyone have any ideas for any of these things?

Google Mercedes me. In short, it is a failed app and service. Unfortunately. The remote start in particular is a problematic, and hardly functional, feature.

The drive mode always starts in Comfort, then you put it in the mode you want. Same for the crazy Auto Stop Start, first thing I do is turn it off. As for the remote start, what specifically is the problem. I have s 2019 C43 and the sysytem is different but remember it operates over the cellular network, car and you both need good reception.

1. On the app - the "problems" are the unfortunate result of the like-4-layer security handshake procedure that has-to-happen-right to effectively start your MB from your initial Smartphone app request. Personally I don't have a problem with mine - I would recommend you call Mercedes Customer care normal working hrs (800) 367-6372 - they will put you over to MercedeMe Help desk - and those overworked guys-n-gals can enter your info to open up a case - and ove that case is opened - most of my customers get things resolved in 3-4 weeks
2. Collision Prevention Alert - YES you can get false audible alerts - but I have not heard any report about triggering false braking - the "lidar sensor" which is the key to this forward looking system operates on a approved Federal frequency band - and the Fed's allow other types of devices - such as traffic counters, camera signal lights etc to operate on that band as well. It is interference from those other devices that can trigger a false audible alert - a minor annoyance.
3. Agility Select Driver's Profiles - YES the system always starts up in Comfort. See eBay link below and message Vladimir your VIN# and he will confirm back to you if his Eco Module will work for your MB - and ask him if there any other functions he can program for your MB as well.
