At night, whenever I lock/unlock my car there is a set of courtesy lights in the door handles and side view mirrors that illuminate. Is this a 12V circuit? Is there an easy place to access this? If I add a small set of exterior LED lights to that circuit - will I create any error codes? I like the way they "soft-on" and "soft-off" & had an idea....
Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

The door handle LEDs are BURIED in the door. I posted in a thread how difficult it is to replace / access them. I didn’t measure how many volts go to them and can’t think of an easy way to measure the power going to them besides taking the door panel off, disconnecting the window (totally removing the window in the front), unscrewing and moving the black panel inside the door, then shimmy your way to the back of the door handle where the led lives. Even then I’m not sure what kind of load you can put on it. The door handle LEDs are cheap, I would maybe buy one, send 12v to it and see what happens
