Carpet Stain near seat railing

Hey guys has anyone had a similar experience with their car?

some sort of mechanical fluid or grease has stained my carpet. Car has been back to Mercedes but they don’t expect any responsibility.

really annoying!

Seems like some kind of solidified plastic or grease. 100% sure it’s from the seat mechanism

Mat was sitting on top of it so didn’t realize it was there

Stain comes straight from the seat railing

You're from Australia - right ?

I understand you 1st "noticed" this when you were cleaning your MB in December - right ?

Did this come up before (or after) you mounted your new wheels & tires and you got you're tune ? (Just kidding mate).

I have not seen it before - now - if you want a "guess" to try to pin on your dealer - it "could" be possible that the anti-corrosion filler Mercedes applies to body cavities (wax like substance) - if that was applied under that passenger seat rails - when it gets "hot" tends to soften and get "runny" - on new MB"s delivered to a dealer during hot weather - from the door jambs and rocker panels it tends to "weep" on the exterior rocker panel from the front and B-pillar jambs... could there have been similar anti-corrosion "wax" under that seat rail the soften/ran with heat - "maybe".

Frankly that seat needs to be unbolted and come up to check underneath.

Keep the beat !
