Maximum number of KM until engine dies?
Hi,
i'm looking to buy a second hand w205 c180 petrol for 24 000 euros in Europe with 90 000 kms of 2015. Automatic gear.
Thoughts?
Can I expect to drive it until 300 000 km?

Mercedes would have a serious problem if a bread & butter car like the C can't be reasonably expected to last 187,000 miles (300,000 km).
Keep up with oil changes and recommend maintenance intervals and the car should last a long time.

Thanks. Was wondering to buy this car and drive for another 5-8 years. Hopefully the maintenance will be reasonable.
the other option would be a 2016 with 40 000 km for 31 000 euro, might not be worth it.

I'm not sure I'd want to try and run any car built in the last 15 years to high mileage, especially a W205. Great cars, I'm on my second, but after having the entire engine changed on the first one after 30,000Km, I'd never ever own one without a new car warranty and a very friendly service department. Unfortunatly we live in a disposable society. Cars are built to last the warranty period, that's all.

My C200d went 115.000 km before the engine died. 
So there are no guarantees.
Make sure it is well maintained. Look in to the service history. Get a print from the electronic service log and make sure all inspections has been carried out.

I would expect that you should be able to go at least 200,000 miles on an engine if maintained according to manufacturers recommendations. Last American car I sold had 225,000 miles on it and was still running strong. If the car has a credible maintenance history record and it follows the maintenance guidelines, you should be OK.
