C 200 overhaul

greeting from Saudi Arabia
I had accident in the back of my car before 1 month and i fixed my car in mercedes benz agency here in Saudi when i came to take me car after they finish fixing it the technician told me the have shortage in spare part and they haven’t got new engine exhaust to replace the damage one and we will provide it for you in one month and its ok to drive your car during this time i took my car and after that unfortunately and before the month end my car engine stopped working and after checking the said engine need overhaul 🙈 the problem is my car warranty has been expired
my question is does the exhaust system can evict the engine and can make damage to it?
my car is c200 2017 140k kilos
