Replace Headlight.

I broke the lens on my headlight, I'll get a used one of ebay, just wondering if I'll need to take the bumper of to replace it. Is it feasible to just replace the lens because a few of the used units on ebay appear to have cracks in the body or broken lugs. If my original lamp has a good body and the ebay one has not can I cannibalize them to make a good one?

Yes you need to take the bumper off first. It isn’t difficult. I would never put chinese kock-off parts in perfformance or safety related sections but lens cover is just a cosmetic item. You can find a new one on ebay.

I've seen the Chinese Lens covers but wasn't sure if the were accessories to cover and protect the originals rather than replace. Part numbers are beginning to confuse me now because I've seen numerous lights seemingly identical to my high performance LED ones with 5 or 6 different part numbers each starting with "A205" and where the labels appear on ebay photos they do show the same spec even if they do have a different numbers. Mines a 2014 model, am I safe to buy a light from a later production date?

Do these lenses just clip on or are they bonded and need to be heated and prised apart?
