OEM VS AMR tune C400 (Review)

I wanted to share my experience with my AMR tuned C400! I first learned about AMR through my good friend Chris whom I met here at MBworld.org. I was in the middle of deciding between 2 tuners when Chris shared his experience with AMR. After also doing my own research I made my decision and pulled the trigger; I bought AMR’s street version tune for my C400. I was amazed at the instant feeling of having more power as soon as I turned the car on. It even sound more aggressive.

Recently I took my car to SNAP Motorsports in Elk Grove CA, also per Chris’s recommendation. Owner Peter helped install front and rear K-Mac camber kits (will review K-Mac’s in another thread) and the following day Chris, Eric and I ran our cars on Snap Motorsports Dynojet Dynometer.

I have attached a few pictures of the dyno day at Snap Motorsports along with the dyno graph of the results. Through the handheld device I was able to switch my tune from stock to the AMR street tune, this gave me a good bench mark to really see the gains of the AMR street tune.

Let me start by saying my car feels incredible. The torque is available at the rpms where I spend most of my time driving (2K-4K rpm) the power is instant when on the freeway especially in S+ mode. Fuel economy is still there (if I keep my foot out of the floor, lol) and most of all the car sounds and responds the way it was meant too.

Here are the details of the day:
  1. Temperature was at 90 degrees outside.
  2. I was running 100 octane fuel.

The stock run was ran at the coolest temperature of the day, which was at about 80 degrees at about 10:00 am.

Stock MAX HP /MAX Torque to the wheels: 299.06 WHP/ 311.64 WTQ

AMR SV tune Max HP/Max Torque to the wheels: 364.57 WHP/ 409.46

Most people look at Max numbers in order to see the success of a tune. The largest gap between the AMR tune and OEM tune happened at 3500 RPM. These are the gains from the AMR Street tune:

Stock Tune Horse power at 3500 RPM: 201.77 WHP

AMR Tune Horse Power at 3500 RPM: 274.26 WHP Wheel Horse power GAIN: 72.49
__________________________________________________ _________________________________
Stock Tune Torque power at 3500 RPM: 301.09 WTQ

AMR Tune Torque Power at 3500 RPM: 409.92 WTQ Wheel Torque power GAIN: 108.83

Over all great tune, great customer service! Whenever I have a question or concern I can always call and get an answer. If they don’t pick up they call me back when available. I recommend and back AMR 100% on the knowledge and safety approach they build into their tunes. Any questions feel free to ask or PM me. These numbers are with stock downpipes!

Thank you AMR, I’m really happy with my car!! #amrperformance #AMRempire

This is impressive to know AMR did a great job with your tune and the results with your stock catted pipes is amazing. Great job AMR!!
