Does the inside switch in the driver door still function? Does it require cutting any wires?
You can see in his photos that he had to cut/splice several wires to install. I assume at this point it wires in-line with the existing switches, so the original interior and exterior buttons also still work.
I ordered the kit from China yesterday so will see when it gets here!
Well, my kit came in and I got it installed this evening.
Works great! The existing interior and exterior buttons still work fine too.
The instructions that came with it were poorly worded, but I was able to scan the barcode on the unit itself and access a more accurate guide (written in Chinese but the photos helped immensely).
The paper instructions show to connect the red wire to continuous 12v and a white wire to ACC 12v, but I didn't have a white wire; it was yellow instead. Could not get it to work in this configuration. When I checked the online guide it showed the yellow wire on continuous 12v and the red wire on ACC 12v. Bingo! This wiring method worked.
I mounted the sensor wires to the horizontal tray that attaches to the back/underside of the rear bumper valance. This is a luxury package vehicle so the rear valance is completely different from the sport/amg versions:
I ran the sensor module's harness into the trunk through an existing rubber grommet, and made all four of the connections in the trunk.
When only the continuous 12v is energized (yellow wire), the trunk opener will operate and pop the trunk lid. When the ACC 12v is also energized (red wire), the trunk opener is immobilized and will not operate. This keeps the trunk kick sensor from being inadvertently activated when the ignition is on or the engine is running.
"When I checked the online guide it showed the yellow wire on continuous 12v and the red wire on ACC 12v. Bingo! This wiring method worked." That thing made me crazy at first time install
Can someone advice me where exactly the green wire is connected to the trunk release wire?
i do not see the trunk release fuse labeled in the documentation. I thought I’d ask before I pull down all the trim.
The trunk release part number is A2057500600. All I need now is the wiring diagram for it. Can someone please help! I would be very grateful.
There is a 4 pin connector plug (A0375456528) going into the locking mechanism, only pins 1-3 are used.
Pin 1 = Blue/Red
Pin 2 = Brown
Pin 3 = Blue/Brown
Pin 4 = No connection
i am assuming Brown is ground but I need to know where the other two are coming from. If someone here has a wiring diagram for the part A2057500600, I would really appreciate your help! I could not find it online.
Bumping this up hoping to get help with the wiring diagram..thanks!
Did you ever get this to work? I am having the same problem with my C43 AMG coupe (same config as c300 coupe). Not sure which wires to run the sensor wire to. There is no exterior trunk release switch above the license plate like on the c300 sedan, only the trunk close and trunk close/car lock button on the trunk lid. I tried wiring it to the emergency trunk open button (the button someone would hit to open the trunk if they were locked inside), and this worked, but sets off the alarm whenever the car is locked, thus defeating the purpose. It would also allow anyone to open the trunk without having a key in their pocket.
any help would be appreciated, this is driving me nuts. Never thought I would miss the hands free trunk pop option so much (my last MB had it, this one doesn’t due to the “chip shortage”).

Hi DiamondSilver16, I like your post about installing the kick sensor in your Mercedes. I have an SUV GLC 300 bought in 2022, and because of the chip shortage they didn’t install the tailgate kick sensor. I just purchased one on Amazon from China, with red, white, green and black wires in the harness. It came with no manual, but there are several manuals I’ve looked at on the web. Most recommend connecting the ACC (accessory circuit) and 12v (continuous power) wires in the front cabin or fuse box, and the green/black wires in the trunk. Black is ground. You say you connected all 4 wires in the trunk, feeding the harness in through an existing trunk grommet. Could you please explain how you connected the 4 wires in the trunk?
If others reading this have installed the kick sensor harness fully in the trunk on their Mercedes, please also respond with your installation details. I plan on using simple splice connectors to splice in the 4 wires. Thanks!

Reason: Typo
I also have a 2022 C43 missing the kick release because of the chip shortage. Did you successfully install it? Which brand/model sensor did you buy? Thanks.
No, I didn’t install it. Too complicated if you need to take apart the rear hatch to connect to the hatch open button. Not worth the time and effort. No one offered an easier solution, although someone hinted above that all the wires can be found in the trunk. No details. The part is cheap, about $20 on Amazon.
