Apple CarPlay Aftermarket Add-On
I've been looking for some time for an aftermarket CarPlay solution and I've found a few results. Looking to see if anyone here has bought, tested, used or any input at all on any of these products. I'm basically trying to add CarPlay to my 2015 C300 W205 NTG5 system. I'm looking for something I can install myself, no dealer NOTHING because they always charge far too much and I want it to work for both Apple and Android preferably but I'll take Android Auto if anything.
Cartiazan - No Price but looks like it's overseas and a module system will OEM harness integration.

- $625 with rear camera as a special price.

- $335 Ali Express - Wireless but not too keen on that due to lag.
Any ideas of thoughts on these so far? Any others you guys would recommend?
Thank you,
To my surprise, it actually works pretty good, my car didn’t have a reverse camera so added one using the interface and it works perfectly.
Installation was easy and should be done in no more than 45 minutes. There was some additional issues because my car had the 8.4 screen, AUX had to be activated in order for the audio to work, other than that, everything else works fine.
1. Dealership activation
Supposedly, there is a way in which the dealership can get into the coding of your head unit and activate aux. I tried this option and we were actually able to get to the coding menu and find the option to enable aux (13.17) but the selection box to change it was greyed out and we had no luck on getting it to activate. Maybe they were missing some permissions or something else required to get this done.
2. Audio shop
There are some guys with some software that might be able to accomplish this (I’ve heard about Vediamo) this software modifies the coding on your head unit and gets your aux activated. Not everyone has this as it requires a hardware interface to connect to your car, so it has to be a specialty audio shop.
3. OBD Activator
This one the one that actually worked for me, there is a little device that you plug on the OBD port and within 5 seconds it beeps and your head unit reboots and voila! Aux is activated.
I spent nearly 2 months trying with options 1 and 2 but I could find anyone who could actually get it working until I decided to purchase this device and to my surprise it worked perfectly.
It’s important to let you know that audio gets routed directly to your head unit. The harness that they send is plug and play and contains the audio wires. The only thing I had to do was to connect the wire labeled AUDIO_GND to a ground in the car because audio was distorted. Other than that, everything was plug and play.
