Unhappy Rev indicator acts up and car looses power shortly

Hello, I own the W205 C200 Class mercedes 135 KW manual 2014 model in the AMG edition. I had previous issues with the car where it went to limp mode however those were resolved after changing the the probes now but the main issue still occurs. Whenever I step on a gas the engine goes upto 2,800~ RPM then the RPM meter sky rockets to 3,300~ ish, the car hesitates and drops down to 3,000 RPM then goes okay. This occurs between 3000 - 4000 RPM only on all gears. See video of my issue here:
- In the video I step on the gas fully and i don't let go despite that the RPM does this.
Can't seem to find what is causing this. The car is in Sport+ mode, I tired the same on Indiviudal with all set to Sport+ in the Agility settings however the issue persists but happens less often on that mode. If I go to standard mode it happens 24/7.

manual mode is designed to keep your RPM's higher so the gear can engage with more torque.

not sure what your issue is or its probably just how you drive.

Clutch

I had the same problem on my manual (not manual mode) C 200. The problem was a bad clutch, I got it back from the dealership today after they changed the clutch. With the new clutch the problem is gone and the clutch-pedal is smoother aswell.

If you listen carefully you can hear the engine rev up and then go back down again when the clutch bites.

Hi Anders

I am experiencing OP's issue on my 6MT W205 coupe as well and your confident reply gives me hope that a hardware-related solution may be on the horizon (spent the last 2 months investigating the software side but no dice)

Just to be sure however, before I go and drop a grand on a new clutch and labour, can I confirm if you share the same symptoms as me:

- Core issue is rev pause/interuption at around the midrange 3000-4000rpm mark (i.e. revs won't climb smoothly all the way to redline... it hesitates and sometimes drop a couple hundred rpm when it hits the 3000-4000rpm zone, then continues climbing after this split to one second pause).

- Issue somehow only affects 2nd and 3rd gears (1st gear is unaffected and I don't have enough road where I am to test 4th gear upwards).

- Occurs most frequently when doing spirited upshifting and downshifting through the gears, but can also happen when I floor the throttle in gear (i.e. cruising in 3rd gear at 1500rpm then I WOT and rev hesistancy occurs when I reach 3500rpm).

Would really like to hear back from you, on whether your experience is consistent with mine before I splash the cash.

Thanks buddy!

what was the issue with this?

car went for a stage 1 remap today and they picked what sounds like same problem up on the dyno run, about 3000rpm it dives in power then picks back up again

mechanic there suggested it was the knock sensors?

Hey there fellow 6MT-er

I took a leap of faith and replaced my clutch with the Sachs OEM+ piece (part no. 3000970133) and it fully eradicated the RPM-hang at 3000-4000 rpm.

Are you from the UK? I'm from Singapore but specially ordered a RHD UK-spec 6MT model.

Hope this helps.

Best regards,
Andrew
