Cracked Touchpad
Have had this crack develope over some time. Car is still under original warranty, and had some other issues repaired this week. As for this crack, my service advisor said it was not probably covered so I asked him to give me a price on replacement. When I picked up the car he told me it would cost $995 to replace! Started looking online for the part and can only find used pieces. The part number is A2059009927. While searching for the part I came across a Mercedes sevice bulletin addressing this issue saying this happens in hot weather (I live in Florida) and should be replaced. Went back to my local dealer to discuss this and no one can confirm that this will be covered.
Anyone else have this issue, and how was it resolved?

Of course it's covered under New Car Warranty - with the Service Ticket from your dealer in hand - call Mercedes Customer Care - that will get the ball rolling for you..

We had the same thing happen on my wife's 2018 C300 Cab. She is extremely careful with the car and our tech said it's a known issue. They replaced free of charge.

Is it a crack or the laminate?

So glad I have not had this problem. I wouldn't mind replacing it with a use one if it's in good condition and saves me money. I don't even use that part of the car as I turned mine off.

If you don't use it and have it turned off, then it's just a cosmetic issue. For that I would suggest a quick vinyl wrap over the touchpad and voilà!

Before the next meeting I did happen to get a survey about my previous service visit. I didn't give them 1's or 5's but my evaluation was not very good as I was still PO'd.
Met with the service manager and he hemmed and hawed a bit and said "ya, we've replaced a couple of those under warranty and I guess we can do yours. We will have to order your parts." I asked him if he wanted my contact info and he told me he knew who I was.....then he got up close to me and ripped me a new one. He let me know in no uncertain terms how that review hurt them and how unhappy he was. Asked me all kinds of questions about where I had been getting my oil changed (I do it my self) and just made me try to feel very uncomfortable. I told him I was not happy that it took three visits to get this issue resolved and he told me I had never come in for that issue before. I reminded him of the other visits, but he said nothing had been officially written up so technically I had never come in for that, and I "reminded" him that no one would write it up as they said it was not covered.
I told him when the repair was complete I would give the dealership a good evaluation. He told me not to bother as the damage had already been done. It got fixed.
This actually pales in comparison with the screwup just last year with repair of my ML350 Buetec at the same dealership. That's a horror story for another day. Didn't tighten oil line to the turbo and the motor pumped all it's oil out....So bad I had to get rid of it. Replaced it with a Lincoln Aviator.

Hi. OP here. Yes, I did get it fixed under warranty, but it was quite an ordeal. Took three visits. First time they were doing other recall work and they told me it wasn't covered. I then found the TSB covering this issue so I called and talked to someone and we made an appointment to fix it. When I arrived they told me it wasn't covered. Showed them the TSB and they said they knew about that, but they didn't think it covered my problem. Told them I wanted to speak with the service manager. They told me he was on his way in. Waited an hour and was told he would not be coming in that day. Made an appointment for another day to meet with the service manager.

If the review 'hurt him' that bad maybe he should tighten up is game huh?
GL to ya!
