17” wheels from W205 C300 on a C400?

I have a C400 and wanted to keep a 17 inch wheel/tire as a spare. I had a set of 17s from my W204 in storage so I test mounted one the other day. While the wheel cleared the front brake caliper (just) and appeared to sit flush with the hub, tightening the lugs a bit revealed a small amount of interference with the outer edge of the brake caliper preventing rotation. It looks like a hub spacer 2-3mm thick would resolve the interference but now I’m wondering if the W205 17” wheels (with their 3mm lower offset) would allow mounting without a spacer. Anyone have any experience with this or are using W205 17s for winter wheels on a C400?
