Front left malfunction

Front left malfunction
I had stuff in the passenger front belt buckle belt would not lock in ----removed the stuff
reconnected everything
then got front left malfunction consult workshop message on speedo
is this the belt buckle or --- I pulle dout the head rest and put it back in---could the error message be the head rest---I haven't checked the head rest wire that is behind the back seat cover.
My 0bd11 scanner has not cleared the message
any help appreciated
