2.0 Turbo oil seepage from front upper timing cover
Hi everyone, just picked up a 2016 C300 with 70k on it. Previous CPO car, dealer serviced since new. This is my first MB, coming from a long line of BMW and Audi's in the past.
I notice there is some very light seepage coming from the front upper cam/timing cover. The round hole in the cover where it mates to the cylinder head in the front appears to be leaking and dripping down to the point where it meets the block. It isn't dripping further than that, I notice nothing on the oil pan. I cleaned all the dirt and sand off yesterday to better identify the source of the leak.
Is this a common leak point on this engine at this mileage? Is the fix simply to remove intercooler hose, remove cam adjusters, remove the aluminum cover, clean old sealant and reapply rtv?
My car is at 65K mile. Using Castrol EDGE 0W40. No leaking. Did you talk to dealer yet ? I have a lexus GS350 with Timing Cover Oil Leak. Dealler want 5000 USD to seal them ( just the cover ) because they need to remove the engine to reseal the Timing Chain Cover.

The green plug was a common leak in the w204. I believe I had a recall that repaired it when I had it. Haven't heard of it in the w205.
