Picked this up about a week ago




This is about a week later and I had to have flat bedded back to the dealer I bought it from. The battery light started to come on and shortly after that the car wouldn’t allow me to accelerate and then it stalled. Also earlier in the day the command system started to malfunction. Help! Did I buy a lemon?

Dealer? That looks like a used car lot. I'd take it to an actual Mercedes-Benz dealer and let them diagnose it.

For the COMAND system there is a bunch of updates that are mandatory, if its never been done then it acts weird.

As for the battery light, could be something with the auto start/stop

Congrats on the new car. Unfortunately you did buy it at a buy here pay here lot it does look like. So if major things go wrong you will know why. However, if you just got it and happen to get unlucky enough to get a battery light on and thats all it is then dont worry about it. Any car eventually will need a new battery.

I'd take it to a dealership for a service A or B- whichever is due next. It'll cost you a few bucks, but they'll go through everything and let you know if they find issues. Coming from a non-Mercedes used car lot I'd almost bet money it has the wrong oil filter at a minimum. Plus they have the equipment needed for the software updates, etc.

Just remember, when you buy a second hand car, you are buying a car that someone else does not want.
