Recommended W205 Tyres for 17 plate
Hi All,
I've noticed my rear tyres are now either on the legal limit or below therefore need changing. Popped down to my local Halfords today and the chap wanted to charge me £200 per corner which I thought was quite steep and said I'll have a think about. I've only either purchased tyres for a Ford fiesta before and they usually were in the ball park of £50 hence why I was stunned but as it's evidently a a benz, I would expect to pay more - didn't think it would be that much. Think the tyres he was offering were P zero's that seem to be an overkill for me.
What I would like to ask is, what set of tyres would I really need?
1. I intend to keep the car for another 3 1/2 years (on finance) with approx 8000 miles a year
2. Mileage would mostly be for commuting (Motorwary driving or A roads)
3. Definitely not using it on a race track or any sport day events
I've checked my current tyres on the rear and have:
255 35R 19Y and their Continental Sport Contact 5 SSR. I don't think my wheel's are standard. I was told by the dealer that they have a night package on them and it's 16 spokes (16 i think) and definitly not the 5 star benz alloys.
Appreciate any advise. Looking to find somewhere tomorrow to change them!
Would it be best to go for the same?

Runflats aren't cheap.
You can always go to non runflat route but in case of a blowout, you either need to call roadside assistance or purchase a spare in the trunk.
If you want to know if your wheels are OEM or not, post pics of them. The Conti sport contact 5p ssr are MOE.
