Lightbulb World's First STAGE 2+ TURBO C300 W205

Hello Guys,
Just wanted to create this new thread to introduce our Stage 2+ Turbo Upgrade for the C300 W205 platform.

Its Compressor wheel and Turbine wheel has the biggest diameter comparing to similar C300 stage 2 turbos available in the market. Which makes it the most powerful C300 W205 Hybrid turbo available.

We are expecting to reach 300+ WHP on pump gas and hopefully a lot more with Water-Meth injection.

We will be hitting the dyno soon, and will be posting some dyno charts.

At the moment, Here are some photos and specs of the turbo for you to enjoy!

Features:

Upgraded Thrust 360 degree
– CNC machined compressor housing

CNC machined and ported exhaust manifold
– Enlarged/custom 45/61mm compressor
10 Blades Snail Style Point Milled Billet Compressor Wheel.
– Custom 39/44mm 9 Blades turbine wheel clipped and lightened for stock-like spool, and High-end power.

Genuine IHI Compressor Housing, Bearing Housing, and Exhaust Manifold.

VSR Balanced up to 250K rpm

100% Stock Fitment

+100-130 Wheel HP / +100-140 Ft.lb of Wheel Torque

Supported Platforms:

2015+ E300
2015+ C300
2015+ E200
2015+ C200

Retail Selling price is 1249$ + 450$ core charge
MBWold members special price is 949$ + 449$ core charge

Photos Below:

Dyno Results Below (STD Correction):
Weather correction 1.07 Dyno Correction 1.00

This is a 2015 C300 2WD with the following mods:
-Armytrix catless downpipe 2.75"
-Custom free flow catback with Vibrant Resonator
-AEM Water-Methanol Injection with 500cc nozzle (will be adding an extra nozzle 250cc)
- FTP chargepipe
-BMC air filter
-ATMDyno tune with 26-27 psi boost spike around 3300 rpm and a hold at around 24-25 psi

Potatoes and meth...never thought about trying that! I suppose they currently use corn for fuel, so why not potatoes!

Nice work guys! i had one made similarly by Turbokits (custom build) back in April 2019. Works well, power delivery and spool is fantastic! meth setup is definitely a must with this setup!
Just be careful on the hotside, the tendency to run thinner walls have effects in the long run.

Am now running on an aftermarket turbo, tweaking around at the moment, redoing a new intake setup. more fun to come!

Exhaust Gas Recirculation.

The C200 has this attached to the stock turbo, while the C300 doesn't. Just a simple step by blocking the EGR port (the installer can easily get a metal plate to block the port), and get a tune.

Yea I guess you're right. I was not able to see any differences in the manifolds except for that.

Thanks for sharing this with us.
Have you had any issues because of the thin walls?
and any idea on the wheel dimensions you have? and what about power? how many HP are you doing, and what mods do u already have?
I am 100% with you regarding the meth setup, especially because of the small water to air cooler these cars have, you will definitely need methanol to lower IAT.

What turbo setup are you doing currently?
We have in mind a G25-550 turbo kit for that C300 W205.
But this will be something for a later stage.
We want to make custom pistons and rods to hold the 500 HP we think we may be getting out of the Garrett G25-550.
We will also be doing custom port injection kits, and should find a way to upgrade that water-to-air cooler.

not sure on the exact specs and gains from this but only aftermarket heat exchanger I’ve seen for our vehicles.

I would recommend not to get this. Did the measurement and it's the same core size as the stock C200 intercooler.

You can actually get aftermarket cores and have shops to fab the end tanks. but we do not need to do that yet, the stock C300 intercooler is sufficient for now.

Unfortunately, the exhaust housing cracked. Surprisingly there was no loss of power so I did not know when the crack happened. there was about 10 months of use since i installed it, and i only found out about the crack when i removed it last week to install the new turbo.
The comp wheel is the one supplied by Turbokits, and the exhaust wheel is 40mm/45mm. Just a disclaimer that Jesse has already warned me that we are running too thin a wall, but i decided to go ahead as no one was doing this at that time. It will still be good to have a good 5-6mm of thickness left, but then again the bore would be too minimal that we can't fit a much larger wheel in. That's the limitation of the w205 turbo housing (but they pull so well from the start, thanks to the weeny hotside )
During the last dyno session, we did not make full power and it was on a lower boost. Before i changed the turbo, it was doing 26psi peak and taper to 24psi. only managed to do a simple obd 0-100km/hr which clocked 5.2s (c mode) with bad wheel spin on 1st. it should do ard 4ish secs with better traction.

I am running the meth injection as well, 500cc sprayed from before the TB (post intercooler). Will be adding a second (and smaller) nozzle right after the turbo comp outlet.
I now have a BW turbo fitted, but still doing some fine tweaking to it. I'm based off in Asia, and there are forged pistons made for the W205 around this region. For the intercooler, it should be fairly easy to get a larger core and fab the appropriate end tanks, but till now i still feel the current C300 intercooler is sufficient. would be good to get some insights from you on this.

Yea I know about the aftermarket intercooler cores, but I am not sure how much bigger we can go, since there is not enough room
I don't know if anyone here has tried to fabricate one and may be able to help.

Any Idea what were the IATs when u were running 24-26psi? and what was the ambient temps?
Also what kind of tune did you have?
Regarding the thin wall, we never tried the 40/45mm turbine wheel, but we've used the 39/44mm for over a year on couple of C300s now and yet we never heard anyone complaining.
But even though that was an issue, we can still be able to armor the wall. We've done it on several Mitsubishi Evolution X turbos, and we've also done it on hundreds of BMW N54 Stage 3 turbos and this worked perfectly.

Ambient temps here (day) are typically around 32-34degC (89-93degF), IAT is around 46-48degC (114-118degF)
Towards peak boost, a/f was low 12s with meth.
Good to know about the wall reinforcement. We had more choices for turbos with the JDM cars previously, and now so limited with turbo selection when we changed to Mercedes. LOL.

With regards to the intercooler, the only available space would be the front side of the engine (between engine and radiator fan). In the newer M264 (new C) and the M139 (A45s) engines, the intercoolers are also front facing.

Would be great if you could PM me more details (pricing) for your hybrid, I have fellow C class owners who are looking at other alternative hybrid turbos. thanks!

Initial Post edited.
Added Price and Dyno Results along with the mods.

Will be adding an extra methanol nozzle as soon as the quarantine is over, and retune it.
Should hopefully reach 320 whp or maybe 330 whp.
will keep you posted.

I have also included a special MBWorld members discount.

talked to the company and it helps lower temps 5 degrees. It’s all aluminum with different internals

It's your call. I've seen the design because my friend bought it. saw flaws in the design. but it's your call.

i'd do methanol injection for much better effects, but that's me.

what kinda flaws? And water meth no doubt works but it does lower ai temps 5degrees they said, kinda need to get them as low as possible with the tiny intercooler we have

the c300 isn't meant for big HP. unless you're doing cams/rods/pistons its not worth it. just buy an AMG :P

or if you enjoy the challenge i wish you the best of luck!

We understand that its not competitive as the AMGs but in our point of view, we see that a lot can be done to the W205 C300 platform that can enhance the HP and make them as competitive as the entry level AMGs if not more competitive. ( not to mention the price difference)
We are working on lot of big projects for these cars, including upgraded engine internals, fuel system, and cooling system.
Hopefully we can change your mind!!
