Hello everyone, I decided to wrap my center console since I have so much time at home these days. All went well, removing the console was a breeze, taking the air vents out made me hate my car, and wrapping it gave me such frustration from wrinkles and air bubbles. All in all, I was successful.
When placing the center console back though, somehow it got stuck. The console appears to be in place, but the bottom two screws are not aligned. I peeked behind the top, and the two clips aren't clipped behind the dashboard. See photos for a better visual. I cannot remove the console now, no matter how hard I try. I spent a good 20 minutes trying to remove it, as well as trying to just push with all my strength to get the clips to pop in. It seems stuck from the bottom area where the touchpad is.
You're going to have to figure out a way to pivot up the end where the two screws attachment points are located. It's likely jammed down in place too far back towards the armrest latch,
Maybe a gentle push forward (using the touchpad tower) towards the dashboard while simultaneously lifting that end up? Just be careful not to push too hard forward.
Your second photo shows two hooks at the top of the console. These hooks need to go INSIDE the dash, not outside. You will have to remove the console, and re-install. The issue is that you missed the very first step and no amount of pushing will help. Hopefully this photo helps.
Wrapping the rest was the biggest headache. My vents are piano black on the sides, so I figured I would leave a bit of black on the cover. If I dont like it Ill take it out again and wrap.

I really do love this one, I was just too tired to finish mine. Seeing this, Ill probably end up finishing up my wrap.
Haven't fixed the console yet, Im taking it to my local shop and see what they can figure out. With the amount of force I tried taking it out, I dont want to break anything.

And more. I tried forcing the tabs at the top down while i try to push the console in place. I tried lifting the entire console up and removing it again. I was at it for 20+ minutes pulling and twisting so hard that my back is a little sore today lol. Seems to be stuck sort of where the touchpad is. Hopefully the shop can figure something out.
See in this video for the removal, at 1:31 in the video, just as the console is being removed you can see that the screw locations have been lifted very high? They are at the same height as the screen or top of the center console. This is the step that you got wrong during the installation. The reason that it is angled so high is because of the hooks at the rear of the top of the center console. The first step that you need to take when installing the center console is to get these hooks into the right location, behind the dashboard.
