I’ve used griots interior for the black top part of the dash and doors but I ran out of it like 3-4 months ago. Lately it’s just been a damp microfiber cloth as needed I hardly drive. I usually stay away from the silver trim part too because it shows the dried water spots. So it’s literally just been a dry towel or nothing since it happened.
It’s defective. I opened the glove compartment and noticed it’s sticky underneath it like the adhesive melted, also near the bubbles there’s like a square of sunken in spot. It’s just really weird how it happened. Although it has been hot for this time of year (90s) I kind of like want to wrap it with matching wood but I don’t think I’ve there’s a match for the gray open pore wood.
Wow yikes mine isn’t even close to that bad. Steering wheel and armrest are fine. It’s just the dash trim piece. Everything has been pristine until this week, months after I stopped using the interior products, might be time to go back lol. Although the leather on top of my steering wheel is wearing off, I miss having a wood steering wheel.
I found a stainless looking trim piece on eBay to cover the steering wheel, I’ve thought about ordering it, it’s only like $20. Not sure what to do with the silver trim. My car is a CPO with a warranty until September, I may bring it in to see if they’ll cover it.
Like mikec35's car, my silver trim on the center console was also bubbling. But it was like that already before buying my car. I took it apart, peeled off the bubble by hand, sanded it, put some extra vinyl I had laying around on top, heated it up with a heat gun & called it a day for reinstall. A new piece costs $80+ (205-680-38-11) so, save yourself some money. Gonna re-wrap without the inlay "design" this weekend along with cleaning my dusty interior : Top Left Top Right Center Center 2
Only had my C class for a couple of weeks and noticed the same thing yesterday! The silver bit around the console has bubbled up. No idea how this has happened. I havent used or dusted the car at all since I got it.
The whole interior seems to be a massive scratch magnet with small scratches really visible. Mine is spotless inside out so I notice it more.
I'm guessing I either live with this sort of thing, or is there a way to suppress these bubbles without using any chemicals?
