I don't get why some dealerships charge such ridiculously high rates for these services. I live in a large metropolitan area so there are several dealers, and my dealer's coupon (they have coupons non-stop) right now is:
Oil change: $29.95
A service: $59.95
B service: $259.95
Seems this is a bit of a "all quadruple priced services half off" sort of deal. There is no sense in the services costing what they're quoting you, so this "discount" you're getting is only bringing it down to be bit less overpriced. Like on #6 - what exactly is $845? $780? I was quoted $550 for a transmission service at my local dealer and $570 for spark plugs on my M276 V6 at the same dealer. That's too high, but your dealership seems significantly higher still.
Find a Benz specialist shop and save even more.

Sure - anyone is free to shop for the best maintenance prices for what they need done - frankly Prepaid Maintenance to handle service 40K/50K/60K for dealer service is a prudent way to pay lower cost for dealer service.
Depends on the year. That's a 2010 booklet, and MB changed things for 2015 (I think -- maybe it was '14), so if you're in this forum (W205), it doesn't apply to your car. 2016 (mine) is 50k miles. You can find the maintenance booklet for your specific year online.
And yes, the prepaid plans can offer substantial savings. I've found about 15% over the cheapest dealer in a 75 mile radius, but the savings can be far more considerable at other dealers (and you can take it to any dealer and not worry about price shopping).
