Car indicating Service A8

Hi everyone !

I bought a C300 W205 4MATIC in 2017 when it was only 15K driven from a 3rd party dealer. Soon after buying the car, I had a series of problems including a Secondary battery malfunction and what not. Got it fixed from the dealership. Right, when my car reached 30K, I got an error STEERING WHEEL MALFUNCTION and they ended up replacing the whole assembly setting me back $5000. After that, thankfully no further problems. However, I did end up finding that my car was painted from the front of the Right door and back when I closely noticed the silver paint in my gas lid and the different resistance of door handles upon opening them many times. Also the patches on my main pillar are also more visible as they have been touched. Although Carfax is clear lol. All in all, now my car is working fine now. What's done is done. I am not sure if I can say anything to the dealer.

However, I have been servicing the car at the dealership. With 48K driven yesterday, my car gave me an indication of Service A8 due. I have never seen this before as it usually says Service A due.
I am not sure what this A8 is. The reason for posting here is that I am very suspicious that if this is in fact Service A8, at 80000 miles, then my car odometer is also re-programmed which is frank fraud. In that case, I might get in touch with an attorney. I am done with finding things in my car.
And if that is the case, then that would explain my steering wheel assembly going bad. As my car would have been actually 60K driven instead of a fake 30K driven without any oil changes.

Any help will be highly appreciated.

service 8 is the a service with an engine air filter @50k, not 80k mile service.

If you go to the dealer they'll charge you $300 bucks. But if you read the manual, its really just an oil change and air filter. You can reset the light yourself.

I also have a 2015 C300 W205. The service reset does not always “take” and may need to be redone multiple times before it actually resets. However, each time the reset is done, the service counter increments up to the next one due. After 5 years, 5 services, and 40K miles, mine was also indicating something like B9. I found out thru the dealer that there is a service campaign for some 2015 C300s to update some software to correct this reset issue. They did the update and also reset the counter so that the next scheduled maintenance is showing correctly. The car was out of warranty, but they did this without charge.
