Hi all, I have a 2016 C300 that I just noticed is experiencing what appears to be oxidation or delamination where the windshield glass meets the panoramic roof glass. A couple of pics are included below for reference. I purchased this car as a CPO with 33K miles in December 2018 and it currently has around 57K miles. I purchased the additional 2 year extended CPO warranty when I bought the car. Any idea if the dealer will fix under warranty? My fear is that Mercedes will say this is a cosmetic/environmental failure and will not cover under warranty. If that is the case, any suggestions on a DIY fix or at least how to prevent further deterioration? Thanks!
It's UV degradation of the clear coat over that plastic body piece - a competent body shop can sand and re-shoot it in place for like $100.. and the new clear coat done here in the US will be more UV resistant - done once - you never have to look back..
Has anyone had this repaired outside of warranty? I took mine to body shop and they suggested that the piece could not be cleaned up and would need to be entirely replaced at a cost of around ~$1k.

Had it done under warranty last year. Took the glass tech few hours and he removed pretty much everything and replaced support trims as well. Imo, getting it wrapped for $100 would be the best route.

Darn, exactly what I was afraid of- impossible to refinish the piece. I think you might be right that covering it up with a wrap is the way to go. It's a shame that these parts have terrible cosmetic issues despite being well cared-for..
Anybody happen to have access to the replacement instructions? It seems that the part is about ~$550 online. If it is not too crazy I might try and replace it myself and then wrap it to keep it from happening again.
Fortunately I don't have this problem on my 2016 but I just had the whole car, including the glass, ceramic coated that has UV protectant in it, hopefully that will prevent this from happening on mine.
