Is your car connected via the app? Can you remote start and lock/unlock from the phone itself?

I've found the watch app to be marginally useful. Most of the time when I start the watch app I get "Please connect to your phone to access the app" and then have to get my phone out and unlock it. Completely defeats the purpose of having access from my wrist.

Could try removing the app from the watch and putting it back.

On your phone click the Watch app, scroll down to Mercedes Me, uncheck 'Show app on Apple Watch'. Once it finishes uninstalling, recheck 'Show app on Apple Watch' again and allow the app to reinstall on the watch.

Then try it again.

No such luck, it worked on my series 4 just fine. I‘m wondering if something is up with my Mbrace subscription...

So, that was the wrong app. The Mercedes Me Connect app is correct. However, it will not allow it to be placed on the watch face and it does not allow me to lock/unlock the car etc so it’s pointless

The Mercedes Me Connect app is for 2019 and newer models. I have the older Mercedes Me app on my iPhone which is for the 2016-18 models and supports the watch app. It works just fine for me (except for the periodic "Please connect to your phone..." errors).
