Looking to buy my first MB car, have a few questions?

Hi all,

I'm in the market for a new (to me) car, I'm looking for a gently used 2018-2020 C300 (Coupe or Sedan) with either red or saddle brown interior. I haven't shopped for or owned a Mercedes before, looking for some input on what to look for, fair pricing, known issues, etc. Any input would be greatly appreciated!

For the interior combination I've been looking for it seems like they're priced in the high 30's/low 40's at Mercedes and private dealerships. What's the norm when negotiating an OTD price for a used Mercedes? Do dealers typically negotiate from their internet price, etc?

Thanks!

If you're not averse to having a few miles on the clock, look into a CPO Mercedes. I've bought 3 that way, and have saved a s**load of $$. Warranty is better than w/ new (unlimited miles). Put together a list of must-haves, shop around on all the used car forums (Carfax, Car Guru, etc.), and I think you'll find the local MB dealer can be quite competitive. Keep one negotiating rule in mind: be prepared to walk away from the deal if it's not your deal... Secondly, take the car to the dealer ONLY for warranty fixes-Spend some time on these forums and you'll see dealers have been renamed "stealers". There are plenty of independent shops that can take care of the routine stuff without taking you to the cleaners.. Good luck with the hunt!

Same here, bought a gently used exec driven car with 8000 KMs on it for the price of a used car with CPO warranty.

I bought a 2019 C300 sedan with 8500 miles on it last week - CPO. It does not have the interior you're looking for, but the price was low 30's and they didn't budge on that. I was only able to negotiate a ~8% bump in my trade-in's value.

Unfortunately, I got a check engine light on the way home for a EVAP leak due to some o-rings (apparently). Will be finding out today if they are going to cover the cost. Can't speak to any other issues.

For what it's worth, I've enjoyed the car in the few days I've had it.
