Steering wheel column noise

The steering wheel makes a loud bang when ignition on every morning(or parked for over an hour).

Appreciate any suggestions. So I can be more specific when bring it to the dealer. Thanks.

The video is private, cannot watch. Anyway, try disabling "Easy entry" in Car Settings and see if you still get the "bang".

Had the same problem, rubbed/caught on something during easy entry. Disabled it and haven't looked back since lol

The Video should be up now.
You are right, disabling the Easy entry will not create that "Bang" because the height adjustment motor is not moving.

Sounds like it is the case, the Bang is more like mental rubbing. I guess not adjusting ing the steering wheel that often is the solution.

Other owner who got the same problem had the dealer changed the adjusting motor. I double my dealer would do that for me LOL.

Having watched the video I can confirm that it's the steering wheel height adjustment mechanism. I've heard the same noise on multiple C300s. The older the car was the louder the noise was. Basically those are moving parts and some wear occurs over time. The more it wears the louder it will be. I have disabled mine.
The only time when "Easy entry" was really useful was when my wife was pregnant. Other than that I just find it a fancy feature that I don't really need.

I have that same issue (noise) and an extended warranty, so I might get it fixed or maybe add some grease?

depends on if you have a good relationship with the service advisor.

I don’t think any grease will fix the noise from metal to metal contact.

Not sure if it's just the video, but I've never heard one quite that loud. You can try to lubricate/grease the height adjustment drive 'screw gear'. Be sure to lubricate between the metal brackets /stops and the plastic bushings/washers.
When the height adjustment raises to its end stop point, it can actually put too much pressure on it before stopping (the teach-in for the range of adjustment uses current to determine stopping points) and causing the excessive force required to move it down... Causing a sudden harsh movement and this noise upon releasing.

There may be an LI document for this, but off hand I'm not sure if your car is related to it. It basically says to check the version of height adjustment drive mechanism that is installed and to update the driver seat control module. Which, will teach-in the height adjustment range based on new software specifications.
If not covered under warranty, you can try the above and see if it helps.
