I'm researching winter tires (Blizzaks or Nokian Hakkas) for my Cabriolet 4Matic in prep but finding almost nothing available in BOTH of the OEM staggered tire sizes; 225/40R19 and 255/35R19 . Would other sizes replace the front 225s without interference; e.g. 245/40, 235/45 etc.. Suggestions?

Pirelli should have the winter tire sizes you are looking.

I live in the mountains. Hakkas or Blizzaks are my only choices for braking downhill on black ice..

Because of lack and cost of 19" winter tires, I bought dedicated 18" rims with 225/45R18 Conti winter contacts. Its popular size both nokian and bridgestone makes in winter tire flavors.

You can even go to 17" rims and tires to drop the cost even further since your c300 suspension can accommodate smaller rims.

I considered buying 18" wheels but any cost savings in tires is far more than wiped out by the cost of wheels; even used wheels. Looking at $300+ per tire.
