Trunk Randomly Opening?
The key fob will flash red and I’ll have to use the physical key to open the door (which sets off the alarm until you take out the push-to-start button manually put the key in the ignition and start the car).
But I’ve noticed that when the key fob battery is getting low, once or twice a week I’ll come outside to my car and my trunk is just wide open? Then after this, most of the time, the car will not unlock with my key fob buttons.
Im assuming I’ll have to replace both the key fob and the key module within the cabin, but has anyone had experience where their trunk just opens itself?
This will occasionally happen as well when I’m working under the hood.
Any advice or previous experience with this issue would help. Thanks!
I had the same that my trunk was sometimes open when I go to my car in the morning and only after 2 weeks I found it was my cat opening the trunk while playing or walking on the key
Amazon 10/$6 delivered in 3-4 days - change out BOTH FOB's when you get the Panasonic in - 2025 is the correct battery # for the "early Fob's" then "new Fob's take #2032
1. Quality of CR2025 batteries made in China - under any brand - is iffy - you wouldn't believe the "counterfeit button batteries" in the market since not-so-good China button batteries can be hand for $.06-.$075 and with counterfeit packaging another $.03-$.04 it's like printing money.
2. Get yourself back to OK with genuine Panasonic (made in Indonesia) - the best battery ever was the original Maxell (made in Japan) but Maxell/Japan in the market now are 95% China counterfeits
