Brake job cost at dealership?

If you're at all mechanically inclined i'd say just do it yourself. I did my fronts (rears typically don't need to be done at the same time) and I think I spent $400 total for upgraded pads and OEM rotors. If you aren't comfortable then that cost sounds about right for a dealership. Check with an independent mechanic as well. You don't need Mercedes to do the work necessarily.

Do you really need oem? Get aftermarket from rockauto. And get ceramic pads if not tracking, you pay fraction of the cost of semi-metallic oem pads for fraction of brake dust they generates.
I personally hate these oem pads so much for making me daily cleaning them rims.

Pads lasted over 40k miles, so i don't see the reason to switch to something else( I am novice with these things). I did get a quote from non-dealership shops , they were around $20 on labour and around $40 on parts cheaper per axle. Maybe $100 if i have to replace all 4 but not really much of a difference considering i can get a rental vehicle and my car cleaned up if i go with the dealership and also just assurance that they will take care if i hear screeching noises or any issues around braking.

This thread was to talk about various options and pricing. I couldn't find a similar thread. Most of them only talk about aftermarket pads or rotors but not pricing.

About 6 months ago, a guy with w205 c300 sport package brakes went into a Canadian dealer to have all 4 corners replaced. They quoted CAD$1000. He wasn't in good financial shape and said he was planning to get aftermarket parts and indy shop to the service advisor. Immediately, price dropped down to CAD$700! Told him to just get it done there when he called me.

Is your recommendation to go with https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/...+pad+kit,13824 ? which seems to be like 20% of cost.
As for labor, it doesn't cost more then 1 hr per corner. At $100 per hr, max $400 would be reasonable. Just to get an idea, the front monoblock can be changed out in 30min per, rears little longer.
Keep this in mind when DIY or indy, make sure to activate the rear parking brake into service mode, or the pistons will pop out rendering the broken one useless when you force the rear caliper from the rotor.

I paid $600 per axle for pads and rotors installed 5-10 years ago at a VW dealership for a Touareg. I see $600/axle quoted on this site at MB dealers. Seems German car brake jobs haven’t changed in price much.
