Error code b23ac, electric parking break malfunction

Hi,

I have a problem with my c43 amg. The yellow light for the parking break in the cluster is on all the time and every time I start the car a warning message for the parking break comes on. I have checked the car for error codes, and the one that I’ve found is b23ac, electric parking break button malfunction. I’ve switched the button to a new one, but the problem remains.

The parking break works otherwise. When I turn the car off it automatically engages and when I turn it on and put it in reverse or drive it automatically disengages. But I can’t engage or disengage it with the button.

Has anyone here had the same problem? Or knows what might cause this?

Would really appreciate the help. Thanks.

who installed the button? I would double check all the fuses. If you used obd2 device to pull the code, you can also clear it but since button still don't work, error will come back. Honestly though, I haven't touched my parking brake button since when I got the car.

I replaced it myself, it’s just a plug and play contact. Yeah, already checked the fuses and they were ok. I checked the codes both with carly and autocom. Yes, you can clear the error code. But because it’s a permanent error it just comes back.

When I checked it with autocom it says:

-parking break button faulty
-signal fault
-permanent

Hi, yes after a lot of troubleshooting. It was a ground cable in the harness that goes in to the abs module that was faulty. Mercedes told me that the whole module was faulty and needed to be replaced and programmed with new software to fit the vehicle. Total cost for this was about 3500 usd. But as I said, it was only the ground cable in my case.
