Heated star - wiring - how ?
Dear all
I have a 2015 pre-FL S205.
As a part of upgrading the front, I got a new glass star - A0008880000 – that is now heated. Great.
My old harness of cause does not include the connector/wiring.
I got as far as the heated washer function (option 875) as the functionality that is activated below something like 5 degrees (Celsius). Good.
The wire for the heated washer hose is connected behind the left front wheel at the washer tank.
A working solution is then to “borrow” the signal from here, take it to a relay to provide power at low temperature to the star. I think a relay is needed because of the high current the star draws, but have no specific knowledge about that. Just to be safe.
I would however prefer to “borrow” the signal from the source / from the engine bay and not from the connector behind the wheel.
Does one of you great guys have access to a diagram over the harness to either see where the wire for heating the washer lines starts (I think the connector at the washer tank is called R2/11) or even better a diagram over a model 2020 harness to show the wire to the heated star.
Thanks
Ps. I think the connector needed towards the star is: A0225452026 + 2x A0009823026 + 2x A0015455080, if any wants to try it.
Ps. A link to at German guy – hints and diagram for a W212.
