Hi,

This is a silly question, I guess.

There is a bit flat mesh surface behind the central LCD. Is it just a non-slippery surface for you put something on? Or does it have something underneath?

I'm trying to figure out a way to put a mobile phone holder/cradle. That's probably the only flat surface around.

If you want a decent semi-permanent stable mount that will not damage the dashboard then take a look at the range of options from Brodit - you select a ProClip according to make and model of your car and then choose a mount to fit on it.
