Dog Seat Cover - new rescue adoption coming
I am adopting a dog from a rescue. He is a bit over a year old, 70 pounds, and a little ribby, so he will get bigger. I would welcome suggestions for a back-seat cover for my 2019 C300 sedan. There are many on Amazon, and it's hard to tell from the reviews there what is good. Some look slippery for the dog, and I think my dog will be nervous enough at what is going on when I pick him up without adding slipping around in the back seat to everything. I looked on Chewy too. I don't need to go to either of those websites; would be happy to buy a good one from a recommended company. I also looked at Weathertech, but the cover was $160 yet looked thin and slippery. Looking forward to this forum's suggestions. TIA

A dog seat cover only helps minimally. My 70 lbs German Shepherd is well trained and a big teddy bear, but her shedding goes everywhere!
Passengers don't appreciate being covered in hair with every ride. The HVAC blows the hair and fuzz into every nook and crevice. The headliner and rear deck are impossible to keep clean.
The only solution that worked for me was a 2nd vehicle that was dedicated to dog travel. I got a cheap pickup with a vinyl seat and floor mats. My Shepherd loves the pickup because when it starts up, she's going for a ride. A cheap workhorse pickup makes a great 2nd vehicle for towing and hauling anyway.
It cost $170 to have the Benz interior professionally cleaned and would have to be done at least monthly to keeps things even halfway nice. To me, it just isn't worth trashing my good ride. Think about an old beater vehicle for trips with the dog.

I've used one of the covers linked below with my two 35 lb terriers for 2 years. Leather seat has been protected; it and the cover still look fine.
