TPMS upgrade from RDW to RDK
1) The Chinese vendor does not provide any instruction of Vediamo coding
2) They do not provide enough information for the spec of their product, such as the radio frequency and the protocol
The vendor is supplying pre-programmed OBD plug solution, but I do not like it because I cannot recover ECU of my car once something bad happens. I understand there are two frequency, 315MHz for US or 433MHz for EU. Only 315Hz is allowed in Japan. I have learned that each car manufacture uses different protocol between the sensors and the controller. When I need to replace the sensors with the dead battery, I cannot choose a correct sensor compatible with the controller of which spec is unknown.
I have searched eBay to find the controller cost 95 USD. There seem to be several 3rd party MB compatible censors in the market. A question is how to connect the controller to CAN of the car. WIS shows the circuit diagram. I could probably connect the controller, if I have an appropriate cable with a connector for the controller. The aftermarket solution includes custom cables to tap-in the existing car cables. I probably need to custom make the cable by myself. I need to procure a connector as least from somewhere.
Has anybody in the forum ever tried the retrofit? If you share your experience, it is appreciate. Any suggestion is also appreciated.
