Removing Illuminated Star - Any Issues?

Removing Illuminated Star - Any Issues?
Hi friends,
Finally getting around to personalizing my 2015 C400 that I fell in love with midway through last year. One of the things I'll be doing is getting the chrome wrapped in a gloss black, and swapping all the logos out to black is fine however the giant star on the front is eating at me. My car came factory with the light-up logo and while I thought it was kind of neat at first, I've mostly lost interest in it and would rather go for a "cleaner" profile overall. I'm looking at something along the lines of the distronic star however I wanted to ask others that may have done the same thing when I remove the factory light:
Is the car going to throw a DRL code or any lighting codes when the light (expectedly) fails to come on? And if so, has anyone done a quick-and-dirty "false light" to satisfy what it's looking for?
