Hi all,
My battery was completely drained (don't ask) and I have since recharged it. However, I can't start it now. I get all kinds of errors when I attempt to start.
"Park assist Inoperative"
"Power Steering Malfunction"
"Parking Brake"
Anyone have any experience or advice on what the issue is?
Thanks

does it turn over? Sounds like you killed it. Batteries don’t like to be completely discharged. Originally Posted by Go5

First of all...all three of those are electric motors.
If you completely drained the battery dead there is a possibility that the battery is damaged, like the other poster commented. It might not charge to a sufficient level to power all systems.
I'd pull the battery and have it analyzed. Most car-parts stores will do that for free.

Thanks - unfortunately where I am, everything is closed. Curious to know why it would start on a jump start and those errors were not present, but now, after an attempt to recharge it, this appears and car wont startOriginally Posted by irondad

Simple. Jump start uses the good donor battery to supplement the car's battery. It appears that your battery is damaged and won't hold sufficient charge so it won't start on its own without the jump. Note: Jumping does not recharge the battery...it just supplements it for a start. If the battery is good you then drive it and the alternator charges the battery.
If it was properly recharched and still doesn't function then its damaged you need to buy a bew one. How about you go on a long distance journey use some high rpm see if it makes any difference. Mine completely died I had to buy a new one.
