P008A00

2015 C400 - I've got a CEL on with code P008A00 stored in the fuel pump module.

From a brief search it looks like it could be a Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor, or the pump itself. Anyone else run into this? Not sure if the fuel filter could cause this. Car is running fine, readings below.

Gerrits, did you resolve P008A00 with your 2015 C400? I have the same code also with a 2015 C400. The engine dies when slowing to a stop. It will fire up after a prolonged cranking and then die at the next light. I have not replaced any components yet but thought to start with the fuel pressure sensor. How did you resolve your issue?

I replaced the fuel pump. It seemed like the low pressure was due to a filter, but as you may know, all filters are part of the fuel pump, and cannot be replaced individually.

Thank you for your response. I will give that a try and see if the issue resolves.

Replacing the fuel pump solved P008A00. I cleared the check engine light and all was good. Must be a common problem with C400 W205. When I was picking up the parts at Mercedes, the counter guy mentioned that the service techs are pulling the same parts daily for their repair work. Thanks again for the help.

Think the low pressure pump is common across a lot of models. This is the first post ive seen on it with the W205 but wouldnt surprise me if they only last 10 yrs/100k.
Would be helpful to know mileage on failures and if they ran 93, E mix or... 87 (puke).

Thanks for the info. My wife's car is a 2015 C400 with 40,000 miles. Never used any fuel other than 93 Octane. Stayed away from ethanol when possible. When I pulled the fuel pump the interior on the tank was spotless. No debris or corrosion. The car is well maintained so I was surprised to have the fuel pump go that soon.

It this accessible from under rear seat like the W204 chassis or is it more involved?

W205 fuel pump

Nicholi, you can access the fuel pump on the W205 models by removing the rear seat cushion. You'll need a spanner wrench like the one pictured to remove the locking ring on the top of the fuel cell. Don't reuse the old O ring and locking ring although they may appear to be in good shape. Buy new parts. The locking ring requires considerable effort to remove and reinstall. I used a long breaker bar and moved the front seat forward to make room for the swing. It is pretty straight forward once you have the ring removed from the fuel cell.

Thanks for the info. I just got a P206600 fill level sensor error. I cleared it. Car has 45,000 miles. I'm hoping it's just a glitch and that I don't need to access. Thanks for this.
