Brake pads OEM

Hi, on pelican parts, there seems to have many choices of brake pads. The Mercedes brand is there as well as a Ferodo brand that is tagged 'OEM supplier'. Are the Ferodo one the same compound as the mercedes ? I would like to keep the same spec as the mercedes brand, as for noise, dust, performance. I don't want to improve performance. Should I just go with the Mercedes ?

I don't know if this is helpful but I order most of my car maintenance parts on RockAuto and a lot of the parts will state it's OEM spec. Here's a link for your specific car and they have the sport package pads.

The exact pad in question is Ferodo Eco Friction and should be cheaper than them having the Merc three pointed star .

My father has put them up front on a non Merc and what a difference in dust .

Not surprising as they contain ceramic .

I prefer all MB OEM except for the brake pads. It makes too much dust. I recommend a name brand ceramic pads if you are not racing on track.

I got over 153,000 miles on my MB stock rear pads, still on my factory front MB pads at 164,000 miles with probably 1/3 pad left. I replaced the rears with OEM factory pads, a few extra bucks for the factory pads was worth it based on how long the first set lasted for me. I didn't even turn or replace the rear rotors, just put the rear pads on and it's stopping the same as before.

Anyone Try https://akebonobrakes.com/euro

They offer these for both Standard and Sport W205 Brakes

If anyone has experience with these pads on their W205 please report as this is the Pad I'm leaning towards

There have been similar questions asked and my response is the same every time: the only parts you don't want to mess with are the brakes.
These cars have "Autonomous Emergency Braking" which means that the car will brake when it senses a possible collision and the driver does not react. That breaking force and stopping distance were all engineered and calculated using MB OEM parts. Nothing else. Period.

Don’t forget to use oem tires. Don’t let the car do AEB when it rain or moisture on the road. Don’t do it on concrete road as it’s calibrated on asphalt road. Empty the trunk and drive alone…. /s.

It’s a closed loop control. It senses wheel speed, slips, and control the braking force. Don’t worry too much. Use whatever you like. Avoid inferior products only. My 2 cents.

I changed over to EBC Redstuff a few months ago (already put 6k miles on them) and have nothing but good things to say about making the switch. I don't have that annoying squeal early in the morning like when I had the OEM pads, the stops feel a bit sharper, and I find there's less brake dust.

Akebono is the only brand I'll ever use on my Mercedes. First thing I do is put Akebono pads on my cars as soon as I get them. Totally dust free, quiet and much better stopping than Mercedes or other OEM I've tried.
Also, I just found that Rock Auto has them at the best price I've seen.

It's unrealistic to say Akebono are "totally dust free" of course there is dust , just a hell of a lot less , best described as low dust as most ceramic pads are .

As Steve Martin would say, "Well exccuuuuuse me!" Lol Splitting hairs I guess. So obviously there is a little dust but hardly any compared to a lot of others. They're the only ceramic pads I've used that produce so little dust and still perform.

Whatever, he asked for opinions, not arguments. I told him what I like and my opinion about them and you can, too. I didn't dispute your opinion. This is the **** everyone hates about forums.

It's true that ceramic pads can't beat semi-metallic pads in terms of performance. Akebono also don't say their pads exceed the MB OEM performance. What they say is
Our ceramic brake pads provide exactly the ideal vehicle control and performance response intended by the manufacturers of European makes. Maintain the enhanced pedal feel of European braking performance with brake pads and friction formulas engineered specifically for your vehicle and manufactured in the USA. (https://akebonobrakes.com/euro)
I've been using their pads for years but it's not for the performance. I can say their performance is just fine... or it's ok~ey... For low dust? Any ceramic pads will beat the MB OEM. Then, why do I choose them? I will consider any brands if they meet these criteria. (1) Neither made in China, nor Chinese brand. (2) A company with long history. (3) A big company enough to take responsibility. (4) A company specialized only in the brake parts. (No, cookie, electric, tire, ...) (5) Their own factory. (No, we do R&D, they make it). (6) Their own brand. (No, duralast, carquest, napa ...) (7) oem supply records to major automotive manufacturers.
