w205 C200 p022921 - solving the issue - mamba G3 vacuum
hi,
i am posting this thread to help anyone in the future that experienced that issue i had earlier.
I own w205 2015 C200 and one day, when i was driving on highway, car went into limb mode without any Check Engine Light. i diagnosed the car and it was:
P022921 - Low boost pressure at turbocharger 1 (i don't remember exact name of error but the code is for sure).
I do have diagnostics and i usually do repairs of my car by myself (I'm not a mechanic). Thanks to information on different forums, i first smoke-leak tested the car. It was all fine and there were no leak on engine system. Then i checked the turbo diverter valve (A0001531159). I checked the membranes (fittings i mean) and also i tested with 12v and all worked so it is also passed.
Lastly i checked wastegate actuator (metal rod arm of turbo). I checked vacuum pipes first and they all were good. Finally checked the actuator itself. There is a section in xentry that allows to check wastegate movement. When i actuated it, i saw that wastegate arm went back a little. I bought a vacuum tester (mityvac 8500) and leaktested it in proper way and voila! it lost the vacuum and in fact, no vacuum at all. i removed it and checked wastegate size and part number. However, there was no exact part number so i bought Mamba G3 Vacuum as it is has adjustable rod length. I put it and man, my car came back to life!
So, anyone has any p022921 issue, you guys can check what i said above and may fix your car without spending thousands to dealers as my dealer told me that the turbo is broken and needed to be replaced! (2000$ +)
i hope this thread helps. Have a good day!
