C300 2020 - MO Tires Rims vs After market

Hello All,

I have a C300 2020 4M. It came with 19inch tires and rims. I am going to get winter tires because it snows a lot in Canada. Should I go for MO 18inch or aftermarket tired and rims. The difference is huge. The dealership quoted me 4.2K CAD with tax for tired and rims for the winter.

I also have a tires and rims protection so not sure if I should buy after market. Does anyone has any experience in this?

You could get a used set of the 17s , take them to a local tire store and put 225/50/17 snow tires on it. Many tire stores would actually match w/ online prices (Tire Rack, Discount Tire Direct) if you call.

If I didn't care about factory wheels, I would just get a set of the cheapest plainest looking aftermarket wheels and tires + sensors mounted and balanced from Tire Rack and take a couple of hours on a weekend to mount them.

Here's a used set of OEMs - supposedly taken off when almost new: https://www.ebay.com/itm/401089108950 (no affiliation with seller, I've just been looking for 17s for my car)

Thanks! Do you know the factory wheels are worth it?

I have a different specifications for rear wheels and front wheels. Should I just get all wheels with same specs for winter tires?

Thumbs up Re : C300 2020 - MO Tires Rims vs After market

Hello dhaval,
On the second winter...I went to the dealer to buy 18 inches wheels and winter tires (see the following URL).

Mercedes-Benz (tirelocator.ca)

Like you...I also have different wheels and tire size (front 225/45/R18 - rear 245/40/R18) since that I have the Sport Package on MYC300, so I bought 4x 225/45/R18 MOE for winter.pleasure here in Canada.

I have to admit those MB wheels are expensive...but at the end it looks good on MYC300 and everything is plug and play...

Regards,

Yeah! That’s what I was thinking. Also if I go for an after market tires and rims which are really good then it’s probably gonna cost me around 3000 plus tax. So 3700 plus tax isn’t a bad deal I guess.
