C300 4matic vibration when stopped
i have 2015 c300 4matic with about 60k miles on it, recently i started hearing clunking sound coming from the front end whenever i turn the wheel fully and give it any gasI went ahead and got it inspected and the mechanic told me that i need to change both front axles
I went ahead and did that but after the change now the car is vibrating whenever i am stopped and the car D or RWhen i put it in N or P the vibration goes away, the mechanic who replaced my axles is telling me that this is because my engine and transmission mounts are shot (which they seem to be)
However when i went to another independent mechanic who is specialized in mercedes cars he told me that this is because they used a hammer when fitting and the new axles and that this should not be done on 4matic cars and that now my 4matic is done for.
He didnt inspect the car or anything but he seemed pretty confident
Has anyone gone through this before or had had similar symptoms or can at least confirm or deny what the mechanic is saying as i am pretty baffled by this
Thanks in advance for your help
