Hi everyone, new on here as only bought our first Merc, we bagged ourselves a nice 2016 c180d Avantgarde. Had a carplay system fitted and that's a pain in the but.. but that's a different story.. Here today because we seem to have a lot of oil vapour escaping from the air inlet pipe where the push fitting connects to the engine on the high pressure side of the turbo??
THis is accumulated and is now running down the back of the turbo and dripping onto the exhaust and causing smoke to come out from under the bonnet.
The car has only 80,000klm been serviced at the dealership.
We only just bought the car ourselves a month ago and took it on a 500klm trip last week. It was dry before but now the area around the inlet pipe is soaked with oil???
Any one else had this?
Is there a seal available to replace in the connection maybe??

Oil separator
So it ended up being the oil separator..
The diaphragm and spring are replaceable inside and the cover just clips on. It looks like it had been checked and and the cover hadn't been pushed down hard enough to clip down.. oil vapours had been escaping and the build up had caused a quite mess and oil to run down over the turbo and exhaust manifold...
