I think it's great that Mercedes allows an easy way to access the service menu and retract the parking brake for a rear pad change. Just helped my neighbor do the rear brakes on his 2020 BMW 330i and you need to plug in a special computer to do this.

We did the work-around by removing the parking brake actuators and manually rewinding the pistons, but what a pain. Much cursing about working on modern cars, etc.
