Need advice on accident.

Hello everyone, unfortunately a young lady didn’t bother to look left or right and shot out into oncoming traffic so suddenly while she tried to make a left turn. Her insurance has agreed to 100% liability, I’m heartbroken seeing my car in this condition as this car has absolutely been incredible. It started as a lease and just last month my lease came to an end I decided to keep it and now it’s financed. Unfortunately this happened 2 days ago and I’m wondering what the adjuster will decide.

Collision center said there appears to be no frame, suspension issues. The sensors triggered out 3 airbags driver, knees and driver curtain. definitely needs new bumper and hood. Radiator leaked and radiator support came a bit loose. With this being said, do you believe insurance write it off or repair?

Thank you guys so much for your input, greatly appreciated.

Personally, I would want nothing to do with a car with a bad Carfax. Even if it's perfect, the value will always be lower than one that wasn't hit. I dumped mine as soon as it was repaired to a wholesaler once repaired while the report was still clean.

Do your best to have them total it out, get your own estimate from a dealership and be open about what your goal is with them. Have comps ready for similar vehicles for sale with the same miles and options when the insurance company calls. They'll do their best to give you as little as possible.

Glad to hear you made it through.

Avoid the temptation to keep this car. Accident is one reason and the piston cracking potential of the M274 engine is the other reason.

I agree with other OP comments…

something to think about in your considerations…

1. How long do you plan to keep it say it’s repaired?
2. Value of the car vs repair costs?
3. Not knowing interior damage, what would the insurance pay for repair or totaled?
4. Confidence in driving with repairs?
5. Resale value with accident record?
6. Used / New car shortage and jacked up prices

Had gone through similar situation and insurance came back with repairs more than value of the car and paid twice the value of the car….took that and put it down on another one.

My only concern would be the resale value if you don't plan on keeping it.
The front end is incredibly easy to replace. It only take about an hour start to finish. Hood's not a problem either. PROVIDED nothing structurally was damaged.
Cost of parts, painting and replacing the air bags...yeah you know what...as I'm writing this it occurs to me that what those other guys said in their posts are right. If you can get it totaled then that's probably going to be for the best.

It will come down to the value of the car vs the repair cost. Typically insurances write it off if the repair is 75% or more of the car's value. Air bag deployment makes this much more likely. On the other hand, the values of cars are high at the moment, so not sure if they use current market value or a more normal market value. As others have said, this is pretty much the worst time to be needing a new car. You'll pay a premium for a used car, and new cars are in short supply. On the other hand you may get much more than the car is actually worth due to the current market conditions, so you can buy an equivalent car and just move on from this one.

A beater run-around Fiat 500 my fiance and I had was rear-ended about a year ago and insurance paid 5x what we bought the car for due to the current market. They sent their own comps and we didn't put up a fight on their valuation.

I’m really sad about the car, it truly held a great part of me. I’m anxiously waiting to hear from the adjuster, The current car market is the reason I bought this car out of my lease. I really do love the car and I’ve maintained it from the start. Seeing it in this condition definitely hurts. If they total, I hope they zero out my loan and refund my down payment that I paid 1 month ago.
