Question about replacing brakes on 2020 C43

Hi all, I just received a warning to check the brake pads on my 2020 C43. I got the car brand new and it only has about 23k miles on it.

1) Is it normal to already be replacing the brakes when the car only has 23k miles?

2) Should I be able to get away with just replacing the pads? Or, does this particular car require the pads + rotors? (I’ve been told both, so I just wanted to confirm what to expect when I take the car in for service).

Thanks for your help!

There is no way of knowing how you drive. Since you have a C43, you may drive fast. Probably heavy braking too. Wouldn’t you have to check the rotors to see if they need replacement?

Thanks for your response. Honestly, I don’t drive fast these days. The usage has been very standard and no different than my previous 2016 C450. However, I do use the dynamic cruise control a lot, and I know that can take a toll on the brakes, but again, it’s no more than how much I used it on my C450. And those brakes lasted over 50k miles.

As far as my question about the rotors, I mainly want to confirm that changing Pads only is an option on this vehicle. I was told previously that on this C43, rotors and pads had to be changed together, but that didn’t make any sense, so I figured I’d ask the question here. Thanks again for your help
