C400 Tire and Rim issue
Hi MBworld Fam,
I have a dilema!
I have AMG rims laying around that I want to use for winter. They are 8.5j x 18 et48 (rear) and 8j x 18 et45. (front)
Couple of questions:
1. Will these rims fit my vehicle?
2. The winter tires I could get a real good deal on are Perelli Winter Ice Zero (Front) 225/45R18 95V XL (Rear) 245/40R18 97V XL. Will these fit my rims and not give issues?

As for lug bolt shank length, make sure it isn't too long for the rear, you don't want to destroy your brake shoes. Measure the shank length of the lug bolt extending from the back side of the wheel and make sure it is equal or less than 16mm (that is what I normally go with, maybe you could go 17mm but why take the risk of destroying your brake shoe) you also don't want to go too short as it will be a safety risk, you don't want wheels falling off.

I am not sure where you are at but if you are from Canada, I recommend Bridgestone Blizzak and Nokian Hakkapeliitta winters. You could also go with Michelin X-Ice. I mostly recommend the former two because they are one of the best winters and since the tires are what connects you and your vehicle to the road, you want the safest option possible especially with the brutal winters we have here (if you are in Canada). That said, any snow tires will still be better than any summer performance tires or "all" seasons in winter.
