Hello 205ers !

I'm a long time lurker with a 16 C300. The car isn't equipped with factory ambient lighting and i ordered the famed turbine vent upgrades and they've been sitting in my truck as i can't find any clear instructions for non OEM equipped models.

Is anyone on this forum Dallas based that has done this mod before, or know of a shop that could tackle this ?

I may just swap them in without the lighting. I can tackle the mechanics of swapping out the vents, but am super lost on the wiring.

Hi Satin could you provide us the link where you bought the vents?
Then we can already see if these vents are (like mine) to connect to the OEM ambient light cables & software or are as a package for cars without ambient light.

 

I agree to with what Doa said. We would need to know where you purchased your kit from to better help you out. I got my kit from DMP, as well as most of us here (I think). If you got your kit from DMP, I can surely help you out with images (worst case). I also happen to live in the Dallas Area (McKinney to be precise).
Provide us with where you purchased the kit. And what all you got.

 

Hey guys ordered off Amazon. Apologies for the sh**ty pics. My 205 is not equipped with ambient lighting as OEM package. I see the 3 wire being common from searching the forums. Then there is a plug end that I’m not sure of where to plug to.

 

Personally, If I were you, I'd return that entire kit back to Amazon and buy the kit from DMP Car Designs. They will provide you with everything that's necessary. There won't be any leads like that either because everything will be connected back to the control module. And on a positive note, there is a Youtuber (Flexx) that has done this mod and has made a video to show how to properly do the install as well.

 

Thanks so much Kush ! I will order the DMP kit or look for a harness individually, worst case i will swap them in man. Glad to connect with a 205 nerd in McKinney, we should meet up sometime, i really only do car nerd stuff and work LOL, take care !
