iPod connection
I asked this very same question on the X253 forum. Unfortunately, responses are not as quick as here. As it is the identical set up on a C-Class compared to the GLC, maybe someone here can help me out:
"Well, maybe we are a bit old fashioned and not into all this new Apple car play and whatever else is out there stuff, so here my question:
Can I hook up my older iPod, (which I was able to use on older vehicles with an Aux Cord) on the GLC? If so, how? I only see USB Connectors in the center console, no longer an Aux outlet.
Many thanks in advance"

1. Plugging the USB cable to the ipod and then to the cars USB port?
2. Checking the command manual?

When you say old iPod, how old is it exactly? Also, after plugging in the ipod, make sure it's opened up and actually playing music, go to Media tab in your entertainment unit and then choose Media device #1/2 (depending on the USB port you connected to) and see if something pops up after choosing it.

The iPod is not even Bluetooth, so I am thinking at least 6, 7 years old.

Then there is a chance that your ipod doesn't support the USB ipod connection which is the only thing that could have saved you with the NTG in those cars, I'm not sure how to check as I don't even know what this mode is called to be perfectly honest other than "iPod mode" when it comes to iPhones which you'd assume just about any iPod should be able to support.

I have a Gen 5 Ipod Classic and it works via the USB connection, but have to use the Smart connection port though I have not tried the other USB port. I don't have the AUX connection.
