I’m looking to buy a C Class for my son, I was looking at 2012-14, w204s, but a couple of high mileage w205s have come up in my price range. Mileage is 100k and 120k.
any advice on what to lookout for on the w204 at that mileage?
Thanks in advance!

W205 is a good upgrade. Comes with safety features which i think are not in W204s. I have 2015 C300 W205. Here are the things i would pay attention to:
Door open warning kick in only after few seconds or after particular speed. My kids did not close rear driver side properly and when I backed my car out of the garage, it opened on its own and I had to spend 2k to get it fixed.
Panoramic sunroof, keep it closed all the time. Do not drive on bumpy road with the sunroof open. The sunroof hinges attached to the roof is plastic and breaks easily. Only way to fix it is to re-install new rails which costs 2.5k.
I planning to keep this car for my son who will be graduating in a year or so.

Thanks, I ended up with the one that has 125k, the other had been smoked in, and I always smell it despite what the dealer tells me! What I ended up with is a base model so no sunroof, I just hope that I don’t end up regretting buying a car with such high mileage. Cosmetically it’s in great shape for the miles, other than the drivers seat it’s like it’s not been used. Mechanically 🤞🏼Originally Posted by NewMBC300

In regards to the sunroof clips, definitely a common issue, a forum member was able to DIY it and share the 3D printed parts for us forum members: https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...air-place.htmlOriginally Posted by NewMBC300

Yes. I am planning to get those clips. There are two types of clips being marketed. One is within US costs $30 per set and another from France which is $80 per side. Both have different installation procedure.
